How do you explain going home? Do you say it feels good, because you're going to see your folks after a long time.. or do you say it feels a little lukewarm, because of all the screw-ups that you have done, and it's going to be confession time now?
Hmm... I guess over a period of time this whole feeling about going home has changed.... Not the food - home food is still the biggest attraction factor to go home - but you stop thinking of going home as a reclamation of life. It's more of a "this was my life a while back... and I'm just revisiting it to make sure the memories don't fade out."
Don't get me wrong... it's not the people I'm talking about... but your life, as it existed, when you used to live at home. The sights and sounds and smells that were so much a part of your life... now lingering at the back of your tongue like good chocolate...
Perhaps the bigger fear today, is "What if I go home and realize that I miss everything so much that I want to come back?" That it's great to live by yourself... be independent.. and free... but it sucks to be lonely... even if it's for a few minutes.

Once you leave home, you become a guest irrespective of anything else. It takes time for that to sink in. Till then you go through a sea of emotions why its not the same as before.
Interesting. Infact everytime I used to go home, I used to find the rooms very strange and altered in some way, though nothing had been changed. Probably it was just me who had changed !
Hey,
How are you doing? How have you been? It's been a while since I visited your site. Quite a few surprises there :).

Whatever the feeling - profound, mixed up or anything else - there's nothing quite like home, thats for sure! For Ferrari, I remember, its his mothers lap, if I'm not mistaken, as per a previous post of his!
