Just got back from an amazing 2 weeks... glowing in all the good food :)
So after all that thinking, we managed to spend 5 days exploring Darjeeling by foot - the 2 adventures we decided to do by taxi turned out to be expensive and worthless.

The remaining 8 days at Calcutta were simply amazing for 2 reasons - heavenly home food, and Pujo :) I don't think I have experienced such festivity anywhere else. It was like watching an entire city come to life to celebrate this one festival. The closest I can compare it with was Christmas in Singapore. But Singapore is meant to be that way and everyone celebrates Christmas anyway... so Pujo was simply fabulous. While the creativity in the use of material was beyond comparison, the architecture and design of the pandals and the idols seemed to reach a realm far beyond imagination. Like someone said once, "Pujo can never be described... it just has to be experienced"

hey... nice 1 la... really appreciate your photography skills... nice pics... u think singapore chirstmas is such a view catcher??? i neva heard in my limited exposure to singapore these days... will find out in a couple of months and blog on it :)
